Rounding off the summer, and my half way to a year of blogging, with my highest income yet! This month somehow ended up being even busier than the last month so I was so glad to see my passive income generate even when I got busy.
Honestly, passive income is probably the most amazing thing ever created. I remember going to the gym one day and checking my phone to see that I’d made $65 while on the elliptical! You have no idea how incredible that feeling was!
Six months ago I took a leap of faith and decided to go full force into the blogging world. Seeing other bloggers generating a passive form of income was so inspiring. And now I’m starting to make my own passive income and I couldn’t be prouder.

If you would like to start your own blog (which I highly suggest because it changed my life) I definitely recommend Blue Host to start your blog because It’s only $3.95 a month! Plus you get a free domain name to kick off your brand new blog!

This is another one of those months that proves you don’t need a ton of page views to make an income. My page views for the month actually went down since I couldn’t spend that much time on promotion this month. But I was happy to see that both my unique users AND my income increased!
I’m going to keep the same goal going for this month and all fingers crossed I don’t get super busy so I can reach my goal.
Made My Second Amazon Focus Post – I haven’t had time to really incorporate more Amazon products into my posts so I was glad I was able to get a new post up with a focus on the Amazon affiliate program (you can see a full list of the affiliate programs I use here).
Worked On Pinterest Rebranding – I am constantly changing up my pins to see what works and what doesn’t. Pinterest can definitely be a trial and error experiment because there really isn’t an exact formally on what is guaranteed to work every time.
I decided to switch things up a bit by incorporating my brand colors and making some of my pins slightly longer. Hopefully I’ll see a page views increase from my new pins this month.
July– 1,513 followers
August Goal– 2,000 followers
August End– 1,780 followers
September Goal– 2,000 followers
Once again social media took a hit this month since I wasn’t able to give it as much focus. I still have a steady increase in Pinterest followers each month but I’m hoping to up my game to see a larger increase. I have two group boards that are open to new contributors as well!
Join the Bloggers Defying Odds group board here.
Join the Twenty Something’s Survival Guide group board here.
If you’ve read any of my past income reports then you know I have barely touched my facebook account as far as promotion goes. And once again this past month was no different. But this month I am SERIOUSLY determined to use this platform to promote my content and get my page views up.
July– 249 followers
August Goal– 400 followers
August End– 319 followers
September Goal– 400 followers
Didn’t quite reach my Twitter goal but still happy with my results. I’m hoping to spend more time participating in the Twitter community this month.
July– 94 followers
August Goal– 200 followers
August End– 111 followers
September Goal– 200 followers
This one didn’t surprise me since I didn’t get one picture posted this whole month! Definitely going to change that for September so I can get my followers up.
I choose to share my income as it is earned, not necessarily when it hits my bank account (although some of it is right away). This helps me gauge how well my strategies are doing and where I can improve.
Blue Host– $260
If you are thinking about starting a blog, this bad boy is the reason I now have an official side hustle to keep my rent paid and my fridge full. If you use my link you can get your own website AND domain name for just $3.95 a month! A small investment I made that completely changed my path in life.
I really like this affiliate network because not only can you reach out to work with brands, brands can reach out to you as well! I’ve found lots of new brands just by them reaching out to me. This is also a great network to join for the newbies.

A.k.a one of the best grocery store cash back apps out there. You buy items you would normally get, and Ibotta gives you free cash back. It’s seriously that simple. Plus you will get $10 for FREE just for signing up!
This is my favorite affiliate network so far! There are so many different companies like Checkout 51 and Grammarly within this network that you probably already use some of them on a regular basis and could be getting paid to talk about them! This network is great for bloggers just starting out because you don’t need a huge following to join and start making money.

Amazon Affiliates– .40
Do I even need to explain this one? I don’t know one person who hasn’t bought something off Amazon at least once in their lifetime. All those products you’ve been buying every month can MAKE you money too! This is a program you can use no matter what niche you’re in because Amazon has pretty much anything you can think of.
Media Net– $.02
A great ad network for the blogging newbies because you can start placing customized ads that fit your style throughout your blog without a huge following and make money from them.
Total After Expenses– $265.42
Woohoo! I’m so happy to see an income increase this month! I wasn’t able to post many articles this month so I was glad to see my previous articles generating a passive income.
If you want to start making money while you’re enjoying time with friends or family, I have a guide that will walk you through the process to set up your blog and a list of affiliate programs you can use to get started.
And to really put into perspective what a side hustle income could do for you, $280.42 (I use the total earned because my expenses are blog investments) could:
- Pay for groceries for the month
- Pay for gas for the month
- Help build up your savings account
- Go towards Christmas spending money
Double My Income– I’ve never really put a goal number down for an income goal, but it’s time to shoot for the stars this month. I’m going to get some more blog posts written and try out some different strategies to get my numbers up!
Improve My Presence On Social Media– I officially have accounts on all the major platforms but have not been utilizing them very well. I really think they could lead to an increase in page views and income if I really put in the effort so I’m going to make it a priority.
Keep A Schedule And Stay Organized– When life gets busy and I haven’t completely filled out my planner, everything gets crazy! I’m running around like a chicken with my head cut off and I don’t even know what I’m supposed to be working on. So staying organized and managing my time wisely this month will be key.
